The rules that apply
- UK PECR, as amended from 5 February 2026, lets a site store analytics cookies without consent only when they are used solely for statistics to improve the site and visitors are told clearly and can object free of charge; Schedule A1 has no such exception for advertising. Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, Schedule A1 (legislation.gov.uk)
